Labor cost by job position and industry

On December 31, 2020, the Human Resources and Social Security Department of Hainan Province released 2019 Hainan EnterpriseSalary Survey Information, which was based on statistics and a summary and analysis of the 2019 labor cost and salary of 151,181 employees of 2,315 enterprises of different sizes and industries in the province. This salary survey information mainly provides reference for enterprise salary decision-making and salary design.

The market quantile is salaries at a certain quartile, ranked from lowest to highest. The low-order digit refers to the data ranked at the lowest 10 percent of the market level, which reflects the low level of the market. The lower quartile refers to the data ranked at the lower quarter of the market, reflecting its lower level. The median refers to the data ranked at the middle, reflecting the middle level of the market. The upper quartile refers to the data ranked at the upper 75 percent, reflecting the upper level of the market. The top-order digit refers to the data ranked at the top 90 percent of the market level, reflecting the market's highest level.

Interpretation of key statistical indicators

Salary level refers to the salary level of employees during the reporting period, including basic wages, bonus, allowance and subsidy, overtime pay and salary paid for special circumstances, etc. To a certain extent, it reflects the labor market price.

The rank of management position refers to the position ranking of managers, including senior manager, middle manager, junior manager and staff manager. Senior managerefers to the top leadership, including chairman, general manager and deputy position. Middle managerefers to the leadership position in the first-level department or internal organization of the enterprise, including the head of the human resources department, the head of the research and development department and other major heads of departments as well as the deputy position. Junior managerefers to the leadership position in the second-level and below departments or institutions of the enterprise, including the head of the second-level and below departments or institutions as well as the deputy position. Staff manager refers to the general staff position in management and execution.

The rank of technician position refers to the professional and technical title recognized by the state or professional evaluation institutions, including senior professional, middle professional and junior professional.

The rank of skill position refers to the vocational skill grade according to the national vocational skill standard or the industry evaluation standard, including primary skills, middle skills, advanced skills and above.

Enterprise labor cost per capita refers to the per capita cost of all direct and indirect expenses incurred by the use of labor in the production, operation and provision of labor services. It reflects the total costs and expenses incurred by the use of various human resources during the reporting period, including the employee's salary and remuneration, welfares, education expenses, insurances, labor protection expenses, housing expenses and other labor costs.
