Construction started on the customs clearance project of Yangpu Port at Yangpu International Container Terminal on Oct 16.

2022 is a key year for the Hainan Free Trade Port's preparation of customs clearance operations and the customs clearance project of Yangpu Port is an important part of these efforts. The project covers a total construction area of about 21,000 square meters and boasts a total investment of about 290 million yuan ($40 million). It is expected to be completed in December 2023. After its completion, it is expected to help Yangpu Port achieve the goal of having its container throughput reach 5 million twenty-foot equivalent units(TEUs) by 2025.

From January to September, the container operation volume of Yangpu International Container Terminal was 1.14 TEUs, an increase of 34.53 percent year-on-year. Among them, 235,100 TEUs involved foreign trade, an increase of 18.26 percent year-on-year, and 905,500 TEUs involved domestic trade, up 39.51 percent year-on-year.

On Sept 23, the Hainan FTP to Africa International Ocean Container Trunk Line was opened at Yangpu International Container Terminal. This is the third international ocean container route opened by the Hainan FTP. To date, Yangpu International Container Terminal has arranged 34 routes.
