The third Hainan Free Trade Port International Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Forum (ISTICF) &Deep-Sea Technology Innovation Conference (DSTIC) is taking place from Oct 28 to 31 in Sanya.
The event, hosted by the Department of Science and Technology of Hainan Province, the Administrative Center for China's Agenda 21, and the Sanya municipal people's government, will take place at the Deep-Sea Sci-Tech Innovation Public Platform in Yazhou Bay Science and Technology City.
Under the theme "Deep-Sea Innovation Convergence, Charting a New Chapter," the forum will convene over 400 experts and scholars from around the world. The discussions will center on deep-sea scientific frontiers, energy and resource development, and promoting new productive forces in the sector.
The forum features a main session, eight sub-forums, and four concurrent events. Key highlights include a greater emphasis on innovation and extensive integration of AI in sectors such as intelligent equipment and ocean sensing. The event features significant international participation, including the first-ever "Global Hadal Trench Bio-Geo-Environment International Conference" under the UN-backed Global Hadal Exploration Program, along with the World University Student Underwater Robot Competition. It also continues to connect industry, academia, and finance to build a comprehensive innovation ecosystem.
