Hainan recently released an implementation plan for the establishment of a national blockchain pilot zone, which proposes that by 2025, Hainan will be built into a leading domestic and world blockchain highland.
Wang Jing, secretary of the Party Leadership Group of the Hainan Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, said that the implementation plan is an important measure for Hainan to implement the national strategic deployment and the construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port (FTP), and to grasp the innovative global blockchain technology and industrial development opportunities.
The implementation plan proposes that Hainan will serve as the carrier of the national blockchain pilot zone and will be in charge of applying the technology nationally.
Hainan Eco-software Park and Haikou Fuxing City will be built as national blockchain technology and industrial innovation development bases. Meanwhile, by combining the characteristics and foundations of cities and counties, Hainan aims to establish blockchain technology across the entire province.
The implementation plan puts forward specific goals and requirements for the development of Hainan's blockchain industry. By 2025, Hainan will build more than 50 blockchain innovation demonstration projects and form three to five innovative cases, gather a group of high-level talents and 300 innovative enterprises, and cultivate two to three enterprises with international competitiveness.
In addition, Hainan will deepen the integration and application of blockchain technology and the key industries in the Hainan FTP in order to serve public services and the government as well as to support risk prevention and control.
