To underline China’s commitment to expanding opening-up and sharing business opportunities with the rest of the world, the first China International Consumer Products Expo (Hainan Expo), organized by the trade development bureau of the MOC and the Hainan Provincial Bureau of International Economic Development and sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce and the Hainan provincial government, was held at the Hainan International Convention and Exhibition Center from May 7 to 10, 2021.
The expo positions Hainan as an international tourism and consumption center. It also promotes China's market and huge potential to cultivate a new development layout in which the domestic and international dual circulation can benefit from one another.
Covering 100,000 square meters, the expo showcased such products as fashion accessories, jewelry and diamonds, food, automobiles, consumer electronics, cultural creativity and travel goods as well as medical and healthcare products and pet supplies. Imports and sales of foreign commodities for the international expo were exempt from duties. It also showed the consumption related development achievements, industry status, featured products and investment policies of mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and other countries and regions.
Moreover, the expo provided professional and high-quality diversified services for exhibitors and participants through its opening ceremony, themed forumd, professional forums, trade matching, product promotion, brand releases and other activities.
Events mainly took place in Haikou, the provincial capital at the northern tip of Hainan Island, Sanya, an international coastal resort city at the province’s southern tip, and Boao in Qionghai on the eastern coast, the permanent site of the Boao Forum for Asia.
