The China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) is an international economic and trade event co-sponsored by the ministries and departments of commerce, industry and trade of China and the ten member states of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, as well as the ASEAN Secretariat. It is organized by the people’s government of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.

Established in 2004, the expo has been successfully held for 17 sessions so far. The annual expo is now an important platform for promoting trade and bilateral relations between China and the ASEAN. The China-ASEAN Expo highlights China’s imports and focuses on opening up the market to ASEAN members. It provides an effective bridge for ASEAN products to enter the Chinese market, and aims to build a platform for Chinese enterprises to make overseas investments in ASEAN.

It accelerates the upgrading of the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area (CAFTA) and the building of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road, promoting policy coordination, road connections, unimpeded trade, monetary circulation, and face-to-face exchanges.

The 17th China-ASEAN Expo was held in Nanning from Sept 18 to 21, 2020, with a focus on innovation and cooperation. Covering 104,000 square meters, the exhibition area was consisted of 5,400 booths, of which 4,600 were used by Chinese enterprises whose products highlighted new technologies, such as smart energy, drones, intelligent robots and electronic equipment based on 5G technology.

The 18th China-ASEAN Expo will be held both online and offline from Sept 10 to 13 at the Nanning International Convention & Exhibition Center (NICEC), Nanning, capital of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region. The exhibition will hold 27 high-level forums, covering sectors from green development to digital economy.
