The East China Fair (ECF) is the largest regional trade fair in China. It features traders from across the world and also has the highest turnover. It is held annually in March in Shanghai.
It is supported by the Ministry of Commerce, and is co-organized by nine provinces and cities, namely Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, Fujian, Jiangxi, Shandong, Nanjing, and Ningbo.
The 33rd East China Fair is set to be held from March 1-4 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre.
As one of China's largest and most influential regional trade fairs, this year’s event will span 115,000 square meters, featuring four specialized sub-exhibitions: apparel & accessories, textile fabrics, home products, and decorative gifts.
In addition, the fair will include two dedicated exhibition zones — the cross-border e-commerce exhibition area and the overseas exhibition zone. The fair will host over 5,000 booths and more than 3,200 exhibitors, including approximately 360 overseas exhibitors.
Beyond the exhibition, the event will include an opening ceremony and a high-level forum on cross-border e-commerce on March 1.
Industry leaders, experts, and scholars will gather to discuss emerging opportunities for foreign trade in a rapidly evolving global landscape.
The cross-border e-commerce forum will highlight new strategies for Shanghai’s cross-border e-commerce sector, fostering collaboration in talent, services, and finance while exploring the integration of AI with cross-border trade.
This initiative is expected to inject digital momentum into the high-quality development of foreign trade.
The East China Fair boasts the highest number of participants, the broadest reach, and the largest transaction volume. The fair has been held on 32 occasions since its inception in 1991.
The fair has consistently supported Chinese exporters in expanding their presence abroad, building brands, and fostering innovation. It also plays a vital role in promoting the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta region while serving as a key barometer for international trade trends and China’s import-export outlook.
