Currently, high-tech manufacturing accounts for 70 percent of the manufacturing industry in Shenzhen, leading the country and possessing a strong foundation in high-tech manufacturing and AI application scenarios. Leveraging the power of 5G and artificial intelligence to empower the manufacturing industry, Shenzhen has the potential to become a global hub for intelligent electronic information industries, occupying a commanding position and leading advantage in the global intelligent manufacturing sector.

Today, Shenzhen has a solid industrial foundation and has developed an echelon of modern industrial and manufacturing system. Companies such as Huawei, BYD, CIMC, TCL Huaxing, and others have already become international giants in advanced manufacturing. Many innovative companies, such as Mindray, DJI, Dynanonic, Orbbec, and IntellifUsion, dominate their respective fields.

The “Outline of the Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area” states that the Greater Bay Area should deepen supply-side structural reforms, accelerate the development of advanced manufacturing, promote the intelligent development of the manufacturing industry, and focus on robotics and key components, high-speed and high-precision machining equipment, and intelligent complete sets of equipment. The “Opinions of the Central Committee of the CPC and the State Council on Supporting Shenzhen in Building a Pilot Demonstration Area of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics” proposes that Shenzhen should “take the lead in constructing a modern economic system that reflects the requirements of high-quality development and accelerate the development of a modern industrial system”. These top-level designs have provided a fast track for the development of Shenzhen’s high-end manufacturing industry.
