Ningbo Economic and Technological Development Zone (NETDZ) was established in Ningbo city, Zhejiang province, in 1984, as one of the first batch of national development zones approved by the State Council.
The zone has benefited greatly from the regional advantages endowed by the Yangzte River Delta, the most economically and socially advanced area in China. It offers foreign businesses a free gate to enter China's investment market.
NETDZ is only 40 kilometers from Ningbo Lishe Airport, 150 kilometers from Hangzhou Xiaoshan Airport, 230 kilometers from Shanghai Hongqiao Airport and 250 kilometers from Shanghai Pudong Airport.
Backed by Beilun Port, one of the most important ports in Ningbo, the zone is considered an important part of the shipping center in northeastern Asia, as well as a major manufacturing base in eastern China.
NETDZ has formed an industrial cluster centered on automobiles, equipment manufacturing, petrochemicals, steel and energy. Emerging industries, such as integrated circuits, high-end equipment and new materials, also thrive in the zone.
The zone has attracted enterprises from nearly 50 countries and regions, including the Exxon-Mobil Corporation, DOW, Dupont, Samsung, Sinar Mas Group, Taiwan Formosa Plastics Group, and Geely Automobile.
NETDZ has established a smart soft and hard investment environment, becoming one of the most attractive destinations for investment both at home and abroad.
NETDZ provides a one-stop service from project consultation, site-surveying, agreement negotiation, contract signing, project approval and construction. Moreover, related government departments, including the investment service center, supervision office and complaints center, have also been established in NETDZ to better cater to investors' needs. On top of that, the online approval system has provided convenience to investors.
State banks, commercial banks and foreign-funded banks are all available in NETDZ. Furthermore, a commodity inspection bureau, notary houses, law firms, accountants, architectural planning & design institutes, transportation firms and insurance companies have all been established in the zone.
