"The negative list has been further shortened. There is much more open space and options for foreign investment (in China)," said Mahbub Uz Zaman, the outgoing ambassador of Bangladesh to China.

He recently spoke with China Daily website about China's development and bilateral cooperation between China and Bangladesh.

He also recalled the construction of Padma Bridge, a Belt and Road flagship project in Bangladesh. The two countries jointly overcame many difficulties and completed the construction of the bridge, he said. "It has become one of the marvels of the world."
