Top 10 Chinese airports by domestic flights in H1

chinadaily.com.cn Updated: 2022-08-22

Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport in South China's Guangdong province ranked first in the country by domestic flights that took off, which reached 54,400 in the first half of this year, according to Variflight.com, a China-based civil aviation data service provider.

Chongqing Jiangbei and Shenzhen Baoan International Airport came in second and third, with the figure at 50,700 and 43,800, respectively.

Affected by the sporadic COVID-19 pandemic resurgence in some areas, the civil aviation sector saw the total of domestic flights dropping 43 percent from the same period last year, to 1.16 million in H1. A total of 17,000 international flights were handled, a decline of 55 percent year-on-year.

However, China's civil aviation industry is witnessing continuous recovery as summer vacation boosts domestic tourism.
