Beijing issues new policies to support hi-tech firms

To support and serve the development of high-tech enterprises in Beijing, the General Office of the People's Government of Beijing Municipality issued the several measures to serve the firms.

The Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission and the Zhongguancun Administrative Committee held a press briefing on June 21 to introduce these measures.

These measures are divided into three parts, with a total of 17 ones.

The first part includes three major projects: cultivating a group of enterprises with technological innovation abilities and development potential to become hi-tech firms every year; supporting the growth of small and medium-sized hi-tech companies; Forming a group of hi-tech enterprises with strong comprehensive strength and great economic contribution.

The second part supports the agglomeration of innovative elements to enterprises.

It proposes to increase support for technological innovation of enterprises, to strengthen financing for enterprises and to guarantee enterprise talent service.

The third part mentions improving the working mechanism, to strengthen work organization and implementation, make good use of information technology, introduce third-party institutions to carry out evaluation and supervision, and strengthen full-process supervision The number of hi-tech enterprises in Beijing reached 27,600 in 2021, ranking first among all cities in China.

According to the annual report, the total revenue of these companies amounted to 6.56 trillion yuan ($974.2 billion), a year-on-year increase of 43.38 percent. The total tax payment stood at 239.849 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 53.31 percent.
