Baotou has inked 115 projects with a total contract investment of 61.548 billion yuan ($9.2 billion) at the recent Service Industry High Quality Development Promotion Conference. Investors include six Fortune 500 companies, eight top 500 companies in China, and seven Top 500 private companies in China.

The projects involve 17 fields related to the service industry, including trade and logistics, modern services, culture and tourism, healthcare, and elderly care.

Baotou also published a list of policies at the conference to promote the high-quality development of the local service industry. The policies list clearly and carefully enumerates and explaines the series of policies and measures that have been drawn up and introduced by the municipal party committee and government, including 10 aspects that cover modern logistics, finance, cultural tourism, and modern business.

“The content of the list is clear and significant,” an entrepreneur attending this conference said, “it’s useful”. For modern logistics, for instance, the list points out that large-scale logistic enterprises setting up headquarters, distribution centers or other office hubs in Baotou can be given a maximum of 5 million yuan. As for cultural tourism, newly-rated national 5A and 4A tourist attractions will be given a one-time reward of 1 million yuan and 500,000 yuan, respectively. These solid supporting measures will further stimulate the vitality of market entities and promote the high-quality development of the service industry.
