China Southern Airlines and New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE) officially launched the New Zealand Cares Day Project on Tuesday, an upgraded effort to enhance pandemic prevention and control.

The project, starting on Tuesday to the end of this year, will provide tailored services to passengers travelling through China Southern’s Sky Pearl Club Lounges at Beijing Daxing International Airport and Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport.

Passengers can receive limited edition pandemic prevention kits which include specialties from New Zealand. Some seasonal healthy drinks are also accessible.

"I am proud that NZTE is able to collaborate with China Southern as a strategic partner, to showcase premium New Zealand products in such an innovative way, while also supporting the health and well-being of travelers", said Pete Frost, New Zealand trade commissioner for Southern China.

As of now, more than 4,000 passengers on China Southern’s flights have received the hotel quarantine kits. It is expected that an estimated 10,000 international passengers will benefit from this project.

In August 2021, China Southern initiated the first round of cross-over cooperation with NZTE to introduce the International Passenger Caring Project, offering complimentary hotel quarantine kits to passengers entering China on select international flights.
