Hondlon district in Baotou, North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, ranked first among the 103 banners, counties and districts in the region for its total amount of GDP in the last four years, according to local authorities.
The district predicts an average GDP growth of about 6.1 percent from 2018 to 2021.
Average growth forecasts for the district's fixed asset investment growth and added value of industries above designated size were about 11.5 and 12.8 percent, respectively.
In the past four years, Hondlon's import and export volume reached 58.26 billion yuan ($9.18 billion), and five R&D organizations and 23 high-tech enterprises were newly set up.
In 2021, Hondlon district continued to increase its efforts in promoting investment, introducing 161 projects, such as the Xinyuan Granular Silicon Nano-Crystalline Silicon Manufacturing Project with a total investment of 30 billion yuan and Longma High-end Wind Power Equipment Manufacturing Industrial Park Project with a total investment of 16 billion yuan.
Its import and export volume last year was 19 billion yuan, a yearly increase of 68 percent.
Hondlon district were rated among the top 100 county-level areas in terms of e-commerce competitiveness in 2021.
To better support the e-commerce industry, Hondlon introduced leading companies such as Kuaicheng Logistics and China COSCO Shipping Co Ltd, and selected eight logistics companies to pilot the construction of a logistics service platform which provides supply chain services such as warehousing, freight forwarding, transportation, trading, financing, and big data analysis.
