The Baotou Development and Reform Commission – located in the city of Baotou, in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region – recently announced its work plan and targets for next year.
Under the plan, Baotou will create the best business environment in Inner Mongolia autonomous and one of the first-class business environments in the country.
Baotou is expected to sign more than 1,000 investment promotions projects throughout the year and implement over 900 projects, each with an investment of more than 100 million yuan ($15.7 million).
The city also plans to create a national carbon peak and carbon neutrality pilot area, build a pioneer area for ecological protection and high-quality development in the Yellow River Basin, accelerate the promotion of regional coordinated development and ensure its food security.
In addition, Baotou is scheduled to open flight routes linking Baotou to more than six new cities, as well as to increase the number of flights to over 10 cities.
It is estimated that more than 210 industrial projects will be completed throughout the year, which will create more than 50,000 new jobs.
