Macao-based Luso Int'l Banking comes to Hengqin

A new Luso International Banking branch officially opened in the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin Financial District, Zhuhai, South China's Guangdong province on Wednesday, becoming the first Macao-funded bank to be established since the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone went into operation.

According to the bank's launch ceremony, the new branch will offer a full range of services for promoting the steady expansion of cross-boundary mortgages and consumption, improving cross-boundary banking transactions, providing diversified financial services for enterprises in the zone, and offering unsecured business loans to real economy clients to support the development of high-end manufacturing, sci-tech research, cultural tourism and other industries in Hengqin.

Guo Ningning, Vice Governor of the neighboring Fujian province pointed out that as the first Macao-funded bank to enter the area, the new Luso International Banking branch is an important achievement under the joint efforts of relevant departments and financial institutions in Fujian, Guangdong and Macao, and will offer deeper cross-boundary connections and a full range of services for all.

Lei Wai Nong, Secretary for Economy and Finance of the Macao Special Administrative Region and Director of the Executive Committee of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, said the development of the zone is an important factor in promoting the high-quality development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The opening of the new Luso International Banking branch will play an active part in providing convenient financial service support for economic exchanges between the two areas and promoting the development of the real economy in the zone.

A new Luso International Banking branch officially opened in the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin Financial District, Zhuhai, South China's Guangdong province on Wednesday, becoming the first Macao-funded bank to be established since the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone went into operation.
