As the largest annual auto show in the western region, Chengdu Motor Show (CDMS) is also one of the most influential and attractive auto shows in China. Since its establishment in 1998, the show has racked up 23 years of developments, allowing the CDMS to successfully stand out from other auto shows in second-tier cities, and allowing it to grow into one of the top four events of its kind in the country.

Sponsored by the Sichuan Provincial Committee of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, the CDMS also receives large investment and support from leading car manufacturers and the media, indicating that it is on track for rapid expansion and becoming more influential in the market.

The 23rd CDMS kicked off in Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan province, on July 24, 2020. As this year’s first major offline gathering for carmakers, dealers, reporters and visitors, the show played a significant role in stimulating car consumption in the post-pandemic period.

The ten-day event attracted over 120 domestic and international car brands, including Wuling, Geely, Mercedes-Benz, Rolls-Royce and Porsche. A total of 22 models made their global debuts and 36 auto brands made their China premieres.

During the CDMS 2020, orders of 38,907 vehicles were generated, with the transaction volume reaching more than 6.8 billion yuan ($1.05 billion).

The 2023 Chengdu Motor Show is held from Aug 25 to Sept 3.
