The 14th China-Northeast Asia Expo is held from August 23 to 27.

The China-Northeast Asia Expo is a national-level exhibition approved by the State Council in 2005. From 2005 to 2013, it was held annually in Changchun, Jilin province. Since 2014, the expo has been biennial.

The Expo is jointly hosted by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, the National Development and Reform Commission of the People’s Republic of China, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and the people’s government of Jilin province, and is cosponsored by eight important business associations of the other five countries in Northeast Asia as well as the Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat.

Open globally and participated in by six Northeast Asian countries, it is also the only comprehensive international expo at the national level. It has become an important platform for countries in Northeast Asia to build consensus and enhance cooperation.

Twelve sessions of the China-Northeast Asia Expo were held from 2005 to 2019. A total of 750,000 professional businesspeople from more than 130 countries and regions attended them, 10 percent of whom were from overseas. More than 1200 Fortune 500 enterprises and large multinational companies participated in the exhibitions, during which the total volume of merchandise trade reached US $9.1 billion. A total of 2,822 cooperation projects were signed with a total investment of 1,773.2 billion yuan (about $ 273.41 million).

The 12th Expo was held in Changchun in August 2019, with a total of 1,337 domestic and foreign enterprises and institutions participating. Among them, 592, or 44.28 percent, were enterprises and institutions from 45 countries and regions, including the five northeast Asian countries, Britain, France, Germany, the United States, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.

The exhibits covered a total of more than 10,000 kinds of commodities in 39 categories and 333 sub-categories, and more than 130,000 people visited the site. A total of 93 contracted projects were signed with the total contract investment of 55.584 billion yuan.

The China-Northeast Asia Expo has made positive contributions to promoting high-level dialogue and diversified cooperation among countries in Northeast Asia, as well as to advancing negotiations on trade in goods and services and investment.  

Northeast Asia is one of the most dynamic regions in the world. With the help of this platform, governments, institutions and business representatives of various countries are able to provide it with cooperation, expanded results, and a jointly created new and better future.

The 13th China-Northeast Asia Expo will be held in Changchun, Jilin province, from Sept 23 to 27, 2021.
