Siemens, a German electrical and electronic engineering company, signed an investment agreement with Suzhou New District to establish its China headquarters for electrical products in the district on June 21.

The headquarters will be responsible for Siemens' electrical products business in China, integrating business development, product management, digital innovation centers, R&D, and manufacturing, as well as exporting products to more than 20 countries worldwide.

Fang Wenbang, Party secretary of the district, said that the district will create a high-quality business environment for the China headquarters in order to support Siemens' development in the smart manufacturing industry.

According to Andreas Matthé, global CEO of Siemens Electrical Products, Siemens Smart Infrastructure, China has been playing an important role in the company's business development in recent years. The establishment of the China headquarters will jointly boost digitalization and sustainable development of local industrial chains.

Founded in 1994, Suzhou Siemens Electrical Apparatus Ltd has been focusing on developing and producing high-quality cost-effective products like contactors, circuit breakers, and push buttons. The products made by the Suzhou company have been widely used in the rail transit systems in more than 30 cities.

SND is home to about 100 German companies covering industries like rail transit, auto parts, and medical devices.
