Located in the southwest of Yunnan province, Lincang Border Economic Cooperation Zone is an important gateway to Myanmar, Indo-China Peninsula and countries around the Indian Ocean. The zone was approved by the State Council on Sept 28, 2013.
With a planned area of 200 square kilometers, the zone developed industries including agricultural products processing, new building materials, foreign trade processing, clean energy, textile, mine electrical, commercial logistics and ecological cultural tourism.
During the first three quarters of 2016, the zone had reached an actual capital of investment attraction of 21.35 billion yuan ($3.2 billion), up by 31.3 percent year-on-year; a general public budget revenue of 6.19 million yuan, a growth of 7.1 percent year-on-year and a total export-import volume of 3.77 billion yuan, up by 38.7 percent from the previous year.
