Beihai Silver Beach Tourist Area

Beihai Silver Beach Tourist Area was open to the public in 1991. After 20 years' development, the area, as a national AAAA scenic spot, has been awarded many titles including "one of the nation's five most beautiful tourist zones" and been listed among  "China's top 35 key tourist attractions" and "China's most beautiful beaches".

The beach is located at the southeast of the city and some 8 kilometers to the downtown area. It stretches for 24 kilometers from east to west, with long beach, white sand, crystal water, soft waves and clean air. The silicon dioxide of its sand amounts to 98.3 percent, which makes it look silver under sunshine.
