The zone is home to 346 innovative and technological enterprises including CEC Rainbow Corporation, Shengyi Technology, Xiuzheng Pharmaceutical Group, Shaanxi Kelong Energy Technology Corporation, Shaanxi Yanchang Petroleum Northwest Rubber Company and the Sinochem Northwest Rubber Institute.

In the first half of 2016, the zone achieved a turnover of 35.7 billion yuan ($5.3 billion), up 8.3 percent year-on-year. Its gross industrial output value recorded 34.68 billion yuan, up 8.8 percent year-on-year, with import and export volume reaching $193 million, an annual increase of 12.8 percent. Its fixed-asset investment hit 4.55 billion yuan, up 15.9 percent year-on-year.
