The China Development Research Foundation and PricewaterhouseCoopers recently released their joint Chinese Cities of Opportunity 2019 report.

The report provides in-depth and all-round observations on 38 Chinese cities, reviewing each city from 10 different dimensions, such as "intellectual capital and innovation", "technology maturity", "health, safety and public security" and "transportation and urban planning".

Beijing ranked first in "intellectual capital and innovation" and "economic clout"; Shanghai was at the top in "major regional cities" and Hong Kong gained the best results in "ease of doing business" and "health, safety and public security".
