Changshou Economic and Technological Development Area

Changshou Economic and Technological Development Area was approved by the State Council to be set up in 2010, with a planning management area of 73.6 square kilometers. The national-level economic and technological development area focuses on ferrous metallurgy, equipment manufacturing, new materials and new energy, biomedicine and electronic information.

The area has developed an area of 40 sq km and attracted 320 noted companies including 18 Fortune Global 500 enterprises. Fixed assets investment in the area has reached 217.1 billion yuan ($32 billion), among which 22.2 billion yuan is for infrastructure.

The area saw its utilized foreign capital amount to $150 million and the imports and exports reach 7.2 billion yuan in 2017.

It aims to upgrade leading industries and expand emerging sectors and make its total industrial output value exceed 200 billion yuan by the end of 2020. It wants to build itself into an important industrial area in Chongqing and a national first-class economic and technological development area by that time.
