Shilaoren ("stone old man" in Chinese) National Tourist Resort in Qingdao, East China's Shandong province, was founded under the approval of the State Council in 1992. It covers a planning area of 10.8 square kilometers.

The resort was named after the landscape feature known as the Stone Old Man, which is a reef rising 15 meters above water and 30 meters in perimeter, standing in the sea like a hunchbacked old man.

The tourist resort boasts beautiful natural scenery, with Fushan, Jinjialing, and Wushan mountains to its north and beaches stretching out to the south.

Taking natural scenery, beer culture, fishing villages, shopping and marine recreation as its main features, the resort primarily covers the industries of tourism, finance and modern services.

After years of development, the resort has successively built up Qingdao International Beer City, Qingdao Culture Expo Center, Haier Science and Technology Museum, Shilaoren Bathing Beach, a marine amusement park, a dolphinarium, a golf course, and a sports center.
