Xinglin Taiwan Business Investment Zone is located in the northwest of Xiamen Island, Fujian province and is about 18 kilometers from downtown Xiamen. It was approved to be set up in Xinglin district by the State Council in 1989. In April 2003, Xinglin district was renamed as Haicang district and the zone was in the jurisdiction of Jimei district.

The zone has a planned area of 79.3 square kilometers and is composed by several industrial parks, including Xingnan, Xingbei, Xingxi and Zhongya.

Surrounded by the sea on three sides, the zone has an advantageous geographic location with excellent transportation facilities. It is only 8 km from Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport. Yingtan-Xiamen Railway, Xiamen-Zhangzhou-Quanzhou Highway, and No 324 and No 319 National Highways run through the zone.

Major industries in the zone include machinery, electronics, chemicals and textiles with numerous related firms settled in, such as Xiamen King Long United Automotive Industry Co, Xiamen XGMA Machinery Co and Lota Group.
