Yangzhou Export Processing Zone, set up in June 2005 under the approval of the State Council, was the first State-level special zone in Yangzhou, Jiangsu province, with a planning area of 3 square kilometers. In January 2016, the zone one was upgraded into a national comprehensive bonded zone.

Located in the Yangzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone, the bonded zone is only one km from Yangzhou Port, one of China’s first-class ports.

The zone has cultivated export processing enterprises dealing with electronic information, mechanical and electrical equipment, auto parts, energy conservation and environmental protection, semiconductor lighting and high-end light industries. Meanwhile, the zone is also considering new industries such as bonded logistics, international transfer and allocation, and cross-border e-commerce.

An area of 1.47 sq km in the zone has started operations. The standard factories cover 178,000 square meters and apartments for staff members cover 14,000 sq m. The bonded warehouse takes up 2,100 sq meters and nearly 10,000 sq meters of warehouses have been transformed from idle factories.

Since its operation in 2016, more than a dozen companies have been launched in the area.
