Xiamen Hiacang Bonded Port Zone is located in Haicang district, Xiamen, Fujian province. It was approved to be launched in Haicang Taiwan Business Investment Zone, the largest one of its kind in China, by the State Council in June 2008.
It is the first special supervision zone with the highest opening level, boasting the most preferential policies, the most complete functions and the most efficient customs clearance in the Western Taiwan Straits Economic Zone. Firms in the zone can not only enjoy tax refund policies, as well as duty and tax free privileges for the bonded port, but also the preferential policies applicable to Xiamen Special Economic Zone and Haicang Taiwan Business Investment Zone.
With a planned area of 9.5 square kilometers, the zone is divided into three functional areas: a port, an export processing zone, and a warehouse and logistic park.
The zone is endowed with superior geographical position, as it is a key hub connecting the economic zones of the Zhujiang River Delta and the Yangtze River Delta, linking Xiamen, Zhangzhou and Quanzhou, as well as a transfer station between Fujian and Taiwan.
In addition, the zone also boasts a comprehensive transportation network involving high-speed rail, highways, aviation, and shipping, as well as intercity rail transit that is currently under planning and construction.
