Fuqing Export Processing Zone is located in the south estuary of Fuqing, Fujian province. The zone was approved by the State Council in June 2005 and launched after passing the acceptance inspection by nine national ministries and commissions in December 2006. The first phase of the zone covers 3 square kilometers.
It is only 8 kilometers away from the Port of Jiangyin, the best natural harbor in the province, and it is also the nearest export processing zone to Taiwan. It also boasts a developed transportation network composed of the Fuzhou-Xiamen High-speed Railway, Fuzhou-Xiamen Highway and National Highway 324.
The zone enjoys a series of tax exemption policies, including import and export duties, value-added tax and consumption tax. In addition, the local customs authority and the Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau have set up service halls to facilitate customs clearance for enterprises in the zone.
It is now committed to introducing processing trade and industrial projects, such as electronic information, machinery manufacturing and new energy, and other high-tech, high value-added and export-oriented sectors.
