As the earliest and fastest-growing area of high-speed rail in China, the Pan-Pearl river region has built the Wuhan-Guangzhou high-speed railway, Xiamen-Shenzhen high-speed railway, Guiyang-Guangzhou high-speed railway, Nanning-Guangzhou high-speed railway and Shanghai-Kunming high-speed railway. The Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong high-speed railway, Ganzhou-Shenzhen high-speed railway and Baotou-Haikou high-speed railway are under construction. What’s more, the Yongzhou-Guangzhou high-speed railway is under planning. These high-speed railways have formed a network centered on the Pearl River Delta and influence the Pan-Pearl river delta.

The 3rd joint meeting on cooperation of the Guangdong, Guangxi and Guizhou high-speed railway economic belt was held in Guizhou on August 8, 2017. Thirteen cities along the high-speed railways in Guangdong, Guangxi and Guizhou jointly signed a consensus on cooperation and innovation of the high-speed railway economic belt in Guangdong, Guangxi and Guizhou. By July, 2018 the 13 cities had achieved more than 160 cooperative projects with total investment of 250 billion yuan.
