On July 17, 2015, Pingxiang of Jiangxi province and Changsha of Hunan province signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement on Jiangxi-Hunan cooperative area. On April 15, 2016, the two provinces signed a strategic cooperation agreement to co-build the cooperative area in Jiangxi’s Pingxiang, Yichun, Xinyu and Hunan’s Changsha, Zhuzhou and Xiangtan.

In the cooperative area, the two provinces will focus on cooperation in advanced equipment manufacturing, new materials, new energy, energy saving, environmental protection, biomedicine, ceramics, fireworks and cultural tourism, jointly developing emerging industries to promote industrial structure optimization and upgrading of both sides.
