Xiamen Xiangyu Bonded Zone in Xiamen, Fujian province, was approved to be established by the State Council in 1992 with a planned area of 0.63 square kilometers. Major businesses engaged in the zone include warehousing, logistics, and international and entrepot trade. The logistics sector accounts for more than 90 percent of the zone's total business, ranking first among all 15 bonded zones in China.
In 2005, the Xiamen municipal government decided to build a modern logistics park by integrating the zone with three other zones and parks – Bonded Logistic Park, Dongdu Port Zone, and Aviation Port Industrial and Logistics Park. The modern logistics park covers 9 sq km and focuses on export and import businesses.
Near Dongdu Port and Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport, the park boasts a geographic advantage. It also enjoys preferential duty-free and bonded policies, making it an important international logistics center in China's southeast coastal area.
