Tieling Economic Development Zone

Tieling Economic Development Zone, located in Tieling, Liaoning province, was established in 1992 and promoted to provincial level in 1995 approved by Liaoning provincial government.

Upon the approval of the State Council, it was officially upgraded to national level in November 2013. The zone covers a total area of 160 square kilometers, with three parks planned: a high-end magnesium industrial park, non-ferrous metal (chemical) industrial park and circular economy industrial park.

Tieling Economic Development Zone has worked to attract investment during the last decades, and successfully brought in some of the world’s top 500 enterprises including Aviation Industry Corporation of China Ltd (AVIC), as well as China's top 500 including Brilliance Auto. It has formed three leading manufacturing industries of special vehicle, rubber & plastic, and valve.

In 2013, the regional GDP reached 15.8 billion yuan ($2.28 billion), with its industrial added value of large-scale industries totaling 7.5 billion yuan and fixed investment, 8.02 billion yuan. Retail sales of consumer goods totaled 1.07 billion yuan, with exports of $11.43 million and actual utilized foreign capital of $81.96 million. Revenue from the public finance budget was 862 million yuan. Additionally, the rural per capita income attained 12,964 yuan, while urban income came up to 20,447 yuan.
