Yingkou Economic and Technological Development ZoneYingkou Economic &Technical Development Zone is located in the middle of Liaodong Peninsula and the east coast of Liaodong Bay. Formally known as Bayuquan in Gai county, iIt was established as Yingkou Bayuquan Area approved by the State Council in May, 1984.
Yingkou Export Processing Zone was built here in March 1988, and was renamed Yingkou New Economic Zone in August 1990. It was upgraded to a national economic and technological development zone in October 1992, covering an area of 268 square kilometers with a population of 520,000.
The zone has cooperated with 28 countries and regions, with a total of $610 million of foreign capital utilized. Metallurgical equipment manufacturing, photovoltaic power transmission and transformation, high-tech, and modern service industry are its four key industrial clusters.
In 2014, the region's GDP totaled 46.91 billion yuan ($6.76 billion), up 6.1 percent year-on-year. Fixed asset investment reached 23.15 billion yuan, and exports, $1.87 billion, up 12.7 percent. Revenue from the public finance budget was 4.27 billion yuan. Retail sales of consumer goods added up to 10.81 billion yuan, up 12.4 percent. The per capita disposable income of urban residents was 31,651 yuan, up 7.3 percent, while rural income was 14,715 yuan, an increase of 11.5 percent.
