Lyvshun Economic and Technological Development Area

Located in Lyvshunkou district, Dalian, Liaoning province, Lyvshun Economic and Technological Development Area was built in 1992, and was upgraded to provincial-level in 2002 and State-level in November 2013. Its planned area is 88 square kilometers and it has a population of 100,000.

The area has fostered leading industries including shipbuilding, rail transit, major equipment manufacturing, as well as port and shipping logistics.

It plays a significant role in driving the economy of surrounding areas and accelerating the opening-up of Liaoning Coastal Economic Belt.

In 2017, its GDP reached 11.01 billion yuan ($1.58 billion), an increase of 7.1 percent year-on-year. Fixed asset investment totaled 3 billion yuan, down by 38.3 percent. Revenue from the public finance budget was 1.21 billion yuan, up 16.6 percent.

It has received 3 billion yuan of capital from outside the province.

Actual utilized foreign capital was $11.3 million, with exports of $900 million.

Retail sales of consumer goods totaled 1.14 billion yuan, up 10.5 percent. Meanwhile, the rural per capita net income reached 322,243 yuan, an increase of 7.6 percent.
