Xiaoshan Economic and Technological Development Zone (XETDZ) was founded in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, in May 1990, and was upgraded to a State-level economic and technological development zone with the approval of the State Council in 1993.
With a total area of 110 square kilometers, the zone has jurisdiction over four areas: Shibeicheng, Qiaonancheng, Kejicheng and Yinong industrial expansion zone.
Located at the core of the Yangtze River Delta region on the southeast coast of China, the zone is endowed with an excellent geographic location and convenient transport. Fifteen major cities can be reached within three hours’ drive from the zone. Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport, one of the main airports in China, is only a 15-minute drive from the zone.
With over 20 years’ growth, the zone has become an export-oriented modern industrial park that excels at machinery manufacturing, electronic facility manufacturing, textiles, automobile and parts manufacturing, medicine, food, furniture, new materials and new energy.
The zone boasts comprehensive modern infrastructure facilities. More than 16 billion yuan ($2.32 billion) has been invested to bolster infrastructure construction and improve the investment environment for investors from both home and abroad.
Data on its official website shows that up to now there are 210 enterprises with annual output above designated size. Nearly 100 enterprises generate an annual industrial output of more than 100 million yuan and 15 are listed as World Top 500 Enterprises.
In 2017, a foreign investment of $490.12 million and domestic investment of 4.33 billion yuan ($627.35 million ) were attracted to the zone.
