Haicang National-level Taiwan Business Investment Zone is situated in the southwest of Xiamen Island in Xiamen, Fujian province.

Haicang investment zone was approved by the State Council in May 1989 and founded in 1990. It plays an important role in the province’s overseas trade and is the oldest and largest national-level investment zone for Taiwan businessmen.

Haicang covers 187 square kilometers and has a population of 411,200. Oriented toward innovation and entrepreneurship, it promotes the integrated and interactive development of ecology, production and everyday life in an effort to create a community that covers all industries.

In 2016, Haicang received 6.21 million tourists and its fiscal revenues totaled 16.4 billion yuan ($2.4 billion). There were 292 industrial firms above designated size based in the zone, realizing industrial output value of 99 billion yuan.
