International business center rising up in Jiangbei New Area

Since its establishment, the Jiangbei New Area in Nanjing have made great efforts to internationalize the zone - participating in international projects, introducing foreign companies and establishing overseas contacts.

Guided by the Belt and Road Initiative, the Jiangbei New Area has set up a special leading group for various focuses such as infrastructure, economy, trade, industry and finance.

The area also actively cultivates industrial clusters with international competitiveness, aiming to form a new pattern for overall opening-up.In Mumbai, India's financial center, for instance, the trains running on Metro Line 1 are produced by CRRC Nanjing Puzhen Co based in the Jiangbei New Area.

The high-end ships off the Mediterranean coast, the natural gas transmission pipes in the Arctic and many mineral and hydropower projects in Asia and Africa used steel materials provided by Nanjing Iron and Steel Co.

The Jiangbei New Area actively invites overseas companies to invest for the purpose of integrating international resources, promoting the internationalization of innovation and bringing in international innovation talent.

The area authorities plan to build an international innovation platform, promote international innovation cooperation and support the construction of innovative cities with global influence.

In November, 11 international projects were launched in Jiangbei, covering the fields of medical technology, integrated circuits and genetic technologies. The projects include International Technology Transfer Service Cooperation Project, Intelligent Drive Chips and High Performance Industrial Processors projects.

The Jiangbei New Area organized an international project roadshow in order to speed up the gathering of international resources, help the international development of the "Gene City" of the Jiangbei New Area and promote the agglomeration of top science and technology in the area.

Themed "emerging technologies, innovative products and digital healthcare services in the field of life and health", the roadshow was supported by the newly established Oxford Overseas Innovation Center of Jiangbei New Area this year.

As early as 2013, China's first China-Denmark Ecological Life Science Park Project settled in the Jiangbei New Area.

Focus of the event is to further cooperation with key countries such as Sweden, and further promote the development of projects such as China-Europe Mini Silicon Valley and China-Sweden International Cancer Comprehensive Treatment Center.

In addition, the Jiangbei New Area actively seeks out and establishes international contacts. The government intensively visits relevant research and development institutions and well-known enterprises, and devotes itself to promoting in-depth cooperation in technological innovation, economic and trade investment and urban construction.

Recently, a delegation of the Jiangbei New Area went to Japan, South Korea, Sweden, Germany and other countries on exchange visits.
