Yanji National High-tech Industrial Development Area

Yanji National High-tech Industrial Development Area, founded in 1993, is located in China's "golden triangle" in Northeast Asian economic circle. It became one of the State-level high-tech zones approved by the State Council in 2010. With a planned area of 5.33 square kilometers, its actual controlled area is 11.98 sq km.

By the end of 2016, 306 enterprises settled in the area, including 28 enterprises above a designated scale and 116 foreign-funded enterprises, attracting 16,000 employees. The total revenue earned from technology, industry and trade was 31 billion yuan ($4.47 billion), up 10.7 percent year-on-year. Besides, the region has attained foreign investment of 3.8 billion yuan, and investment in fixed assets reached 3.79 billion yuan.

Supported by a modern service industry, this area strives to develop three leading industries, including biotechnology, specialty food manufacturing and information technology. It has also introduced emerging sectors in new materials, new energy, and energy conservation and environmental protection.
