Changzhou Free Trade Zone, located in Changzhou New and Hi-Tech District, Jiangsu province, covers 1.66 square kilometers.

Its predecessor was the Changzhou Export Processing Zone set up in June 2005. In January 2015, the area was integrated into the Changzhou Free Trade Zone with approval from the State Council.

Changzhou Free Trade Zone is an inland area functioning as a bonded port, under special supervision of Customs. It features four functions: a bonded area, an export processing area, a logistics area and a port.

As a trade zone with the most complete functions in the country, the zone runs businesses as diverse as international transit, delivery, purchasing, carrying trade and export processing.

In 2016, the total industrial output value reached 1.93 billion yuan ($278 million), up 11.32 percent year-on-year. Industrial sales in 2016 amounted to 1.8 billion yuan with year-on-year growth of 4.97 percent. The total investment of fixed assets in 2016 was 525 million yuan, up 24.6 percent year-on-year and import and export value saw year-on-year growth of 11.31 percent to $360 million.
