Yangzhou High-tech Industrial Development Zone [Photo provided to chinadaily.com.cn]
Located in the southwest of Yangzhou city and formerly known as Hanjiang Industrial Park, Yangzhou High-tech Industrial Development Zone was constructed in 2001 and approved as a State-level development zone by the State Council in 2015.
Yangzhou High-tech Zone has a total planned area of about 60 square kilometers. After years of cultivation and development, the zone has formed a new development pattern led by computer numerical control (CNC) equipment manufacturing and supported by biotechnology, new optical and modern services.
There are five areas for different purposes in the zone, including ones for innovation, leisure and logistics.
In the first quarter of 2018, the zone saw total investment of 686 million yuan ($99 million) with a year-on-year growth of 60.2 percent.
