Ordos tech zone finds investment in Wuxi

A conference aimed at attracting investment from the Yangtze River Delta Region to the city of Ordos in Inner Mongolia autonomous region was held in Wuxi, Jiangsu province, on Oct 31.

The event took place following the news conference for the 2018 Chinese Renewable Energy Conference and Exhibition (CREC 2018), as Ordos has been chosen as the city of honor for this year's conference.

Around 200 representatives attended the investment promotion event, including the Ordos trade delegation led by the city's vice-mayor Ni Jiayu, Wuxi government officials, representatives of exhibitors, and journalists from various media organizations.

Chaired by Bai Xia, secretary of Party Working Committee of Ordos High-tech Industrial Development Zone, Zhang Zhongping, director of the zone's management committee outlined the city's investment environment and local preferential policies.

On behalf of local companies in Ordos, Zhang Jingquan, vice-president of Inner Mongolia Yitai Group, also delivered a speech at the conference.

At the end of the event, the Ordos delegation signed deals for eight projects, including for a new cloud data center with investment from Huawei, research into intelligent robots used for exploration of strip mines, and a big data center for agriculture.

Meanwhile, the management committee of Ordos High-tech Industrial Development Zone signed a strategic partnership with Wuxi National High-tech Industrial Development Zone to deepen regional cooperation.
