Zhuhai promoted its favorable investment environment in front of hundreds of Belt & Road merchants on Sept 20, spotlighting Guangdong prefecture's several advantages.
The promotion followed the influential 21st Century Maritime Silk Road China (Guangdong) International Communication Forum that Zhuhai hosted from Sept 19 to 21 for the second time.

The event aimed at deepening open-up and strengthening international exchanges and cooperation while playing up Guangdong's large-scale economic base and trade activities. Its potential for further cooperation with countries along the Maritime Silk Road was highlighted.
Cai Lingyan, deputy secretary general of the Zhuhai municipal government, gave a rundown of Zhuhai's business environment, including its resources, transportation location, industrial layout and policy support. The Hengqin New Area, Zhuhai National Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone, Gaolan Port Economic Zone and other important industrial carriers were featured in particular.
Investment promotion meetings
Zhuhai was one of the first special economic zones established in China and now plays an important role in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. In the first half of this year, Zhuhai ranked first across the province in terms of the growth rates of GDP, value-added output of the industrial enterprises above designated size, and total import and export volume. Zhuhai's GDP climbed 8.7 percent to 129.9 billion yuan ($20.3 billion) during the period, according to statistics.

Embracing the new economy, Zhuhai attracts advanced manufacturing industries focused on smart appliances, robots, high-end chips, and high-end equipment manufacturing. The city is also demonstrating its capacity to bring the development of key strategic emerging industries such as new generation information technology, biomedicine, digital economy, new energy, and new materials to a higher level. Priority is also given to high-end service industries, including cross-border finance, business exhibitions, and leisure tourism, according to Cai.
