The event was announced on July 11 at a press conference by Alan Murray, the president of Fortune magazine.

The Fortune Global Tech Forum, previously known as Fortune Brainstorm Tech International, is a powerful conference with world leaders to discuss innovation, technology, and the economy. This year's two-day event will bring together some of the most promising start-up companies and emerging tech stars in China and beyond.

After reaching a cooperation relationship with 2017 Fortune Global Forum and Fortune Brainstorm Tech International, Guangzhou-based auto maker GAC Group once again became the chief partner of this forum.

This year's theme, "Innovation in the Age of AI,"  will explore the innovation revolution unfolding in China and beyond, including China's homegrown innovation and mass implementation in fields including biotech, fintech, virtual reality, the automotive industry, and mobile platforms.
