Guian New Area, in Southwest China's Guizhou province has launched a series of moves to develop its tourism through the use of big data and advanced technology.

At the forefront of the plans is the planned establishment of an all-in-one smart tourism platform, through which visitors will be able to search complete information about tourist attractions, transportation, countryside tourism, tourist souvenirs, travel agencies, hotels and agritainment.

Developing mobile tourist apps is also a priority for Guian, so the experience for tourists is as convenient as possible.

A database will be set up to streamline the data management for the area's tourism projects, in an effort to improve the communication of data.

Additionally,  the area will construct a management taskforce for data analysis of the tourist attractions, including for the analysis of data in cloud computing internet finance and facial recognition.

A local standard on smart tourist attractions will also be formulated, especially for those above 4A-level (China's second highest level for scenic spots) to improve the smartness of the tourism industry in the area.
