Nanning Economic and Technological Development Zone

As one of the three major development zones in Nanning city, south China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, Nanning Economic and Technological Development Zone was established in 1992 and was upgraded to national level in May 2001, being the first of its kind in Guangxi.

With a population of 300,000, it covers a total area of 504 square kilometers, where a central district and Wuxu Airport Economic Zone are located.

The central district covers an area of about 30 square kilometers, which is home to the Jinkai Industrial Park, Yinkai Industrial Park, Beibu Gulf Modern Industrial Park, Biological Medicine Industrial Park and Central Business District.

With a planning area of 120 square kilometers, the Wuxu Airport Economic Zone develops airport-based businesses, i.e., airport logistics, commerce, aviation maintenance and manufacturing, and related high-tech industries.

As of the end of 2017, the zone had more than 11,000 enterprises including 526 industrial enterprises, 122 enterprise above designated size and 99 enterprises with an output value exceeding 100 million yuan. Enterprises above the size of 100 million yuan have completed total industrial output value of 82.11 billion yuan, accounting for 98.28 percent of that of the zone's enterprises above designated size.

The three leading industries including biomedicine, food processing, and equipment manufacturing created a total industrial output value of 46.441 billion yuan, accounting for 55.59 percent of that of the enterprises above designated size.

The zone contributed to 24.46 percent of Nanning's total industrial output value.

In 2017, the gross output value of enterprises above designated size in the zone reached 83.543 billion yuan, an increase of 16.75 percent year-on-year.

The fixed asset investment reached 27.04 billion yuan, an increase of 14.51 percent year-on-year.

The fiscal revenue reached 3.715 billion yuan, an increase of 7.19 year-on-year, while the total retail sales of consumer goods reached 15.051 billion yuan, an increase of 12.1 year-on-year.
