US company Oliver Healthcare Packaging has opened a manufacturing facility in East China's Jiangsu province.

The 68,000-square-foot plant, located in Suzhou city, boasts an estimated production value of over $100 million every year, the company said on Tuesday.

The plant will focus on pouch making, roll stock conversion, die-cut lid manufacturing and mounting card production.

Besides manufacturing, the new facility will include a testing lab and technical service center, a microbiological lab, and warehouse and distribution facilities.

Brady Tong, general manager of Asia for Oliver, said there is an increasing demand for high-quality healthcare, and the new facility in Suzhou will enhance the company's ability to serve the Asian market.

The company, a leading provider of sterile barrier flexible packaging for the global healthcare industry, opened a sales office in Suzhou in 2006.
