According to the statistics of news release of foreign investment, in January 2018, Newly Approved Foreign-invested Enterprises amounted to 5197, up by 158.6% year on year; and the actual use of foreign investment reached RMB 80.36b（USD 12.07billion）, up by 0.3% year on year.

In January this year, the top ten nations and regions with investment in China (as per the actual input of foreign capital) are as follows: Hong Kong (USD8.85b), Singapore (USD550m) , R.O.K.(USD530m), Taiwan Province(USD520m) , Japan (USD350m) , U.S.A. (USD240m), Germany (USD220m) , U.K. (USD130m), Netherlands (USD70m) and Luxembourg (USD60m), total of which accounted for 95.4% of total actual use of foreign investment in the country.
