Qinzhou Free Trade Port Area

Guangxi Qinzhou Free Trade Port Area was founded on May 29, 2008, with the approval of the State Council. Located at the frontier in Southwest China, the area serves as an international hub for cooperation between China and the ASEAN countries. It is the only bonded area in the southwest coast of China and a driving force for the development and opening-up of Guangxi's Beibu Gulf region.

The area features three main functions — ports, logistics and processing -- and offers businesses including cargo storage, international trade, purchasing, distribution and delivery, international transfer, exhibitions, port operations and inspections.

It has forged industrial systems of shipping logistics, processing trade, importing of cars and wines and international direct sale of commodities. The area aims to build a core platform for the development and opening-up of the Guangxi Beibu Gulf. It also strives to become an international hub for logistics, shipping and free trade for the ASEAN countries.

In 2017, 42.96 million tons of cargo was loaded and unloaded at the zone, 2.71 times the figure of 11.57 million in 2012. Its container volume reached 1.77 million twenty-foot equivalent units, surging by 2.73 folds than that of 2012. The imports and exports volume hit 17.18 billion yuan ($2.55 billion), up 48.53 percent compared with the figure in 2012.
